Community Council Minutes

March 5, 2025

3 pm  GVES Faculty Room


Those in attendance:  Arleen Jensen, Marci Childs, Markell Barclay, Lisa Anderson, Jentri Nay

  1.  Review and approve minutes - Minutes were reviewed and approved.  The motion was made by Marci Childs and seconded by Markell Barclay

  1. Current Spending - Went over the current budget.  Spending 30-35K every year for textbooks is normal.  There were no questions or concerns raised.

  1. Next Year 2025-2026 Plan - Improve in Language (80%) and Math (75%) is the year end goal.  Discussed the retirement of Jodi Allred and whether it is worth trying to offer something next year.  All were in agreement that it is a good option for the kids to have, as well as the computer science class.  Grant is expiring and we are hoping to get a renewal next year.

  1. Signature Form - Signature form is completed

  1. Review Wellness Policy - Our wellness policy was reviewed.  No questions or concerns were raised.
  1. Questions and concerns - There was a question about a text or email regarding Powerschool.  It was determined that it was a scam/fishing text and to disregard it.
